Mustangz has helped both of our sons become better players, not only by developing their individual skills on both sides of the basketball, but also by building a strong understanding of team; and, most importantly, teaching them how to be the best possible teammates. John and his staff of ever-encouraging coaches have done a great job of building a strong program.

We found the Mustangz after looking for a better basketball experience for our son because our town Rec program was very disappointing. John was very fast to respond and immediately invited us to a practice to meet the coaches and see how practices were run. Coach Andre and Coach Mark made a great first impression and were very welcoming. 2 yrs later and we are so happy with the club. I can see the positive affect Coach Derek and Coach Andre have had on my son. John runs an excellent program that has developed, quickly, in the short time since he first launched the Mustangz. The program is very well organized, with established scheduling and good communication…characteristics that many AAU programs unfortunately lack. Coaches are highly qualified, with experience as players and/or coaches at the HS, collegiate and professional levels. Mike Doto, previously the head basketball coach at Creskill High School, and now Paramus Catholic High School, exposes the players to many of the same sets that he’s used for his varsity teams, while teaching the players how to read the defense and make better decisions on the floor.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for putting together such an excellent Basketball program. My son had played CYO basketball for a number of years, which meant only a handful of games & practices for a few months of the year. Even throwing in basketball camps meant relatively few chances to explore his passion for the game. With Mustangz, all that has changed. With the full year of games and practices and interaction with great coaches, my son has dramatically improved. From a parent’s perspective, the best developments are those that take place between his team mates, and his coaches. He’s developed real friendship with other boys who share his love of the game. Mustangz is a class AAU program. They teach the fundamentals of basketball and keep it fun at the same time. My daughter had a great experience. She learned a lot and made some close friends. Extremely organized, good practice sessions, diverse competition in Tournaments. Great communication. Well run all around.
